How do I find the car that I want?
Griffin Motors of Halifax specializes in car sourcing. We have access to a comprehensive dealer network throughout North America and can also purchase from most North American auctions. We can almost certainly find the vehicle you want at a much better price than you would be able to get on your own.
What if I already found the car I want?
Great! Griffin Motors would be pleased to take the hassle out of acquiring the vehicle for you. By using us, you will be able to take advantage of our due diligence processes and will have access to financing/leasing alternatives, the ability to trade in your current vehicle AND the ability to acquire comprehensive extended warranties. You will also save many hours of work managing a purchasing process that can be stressful, time consuming and risky.
How do I know the condition of the car?
At Griffin Motors, we take great care to establish the true condition of the vehicle before purchasing it. We employ a thorough "due diligence" process which includes the following steps:
How long does it take to get my car?
Depending on which where the vehicle is purchased, the delivery process can take anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks. When purchasing through Griffin Motors you will always be "in the know" on the status of your vehicle's journey to your driveway.
Do you offer leasing or financing?
Griffin Motors provides both financing and leasing options to our clients (on approved credit). ADDITIONALLY, we will generally accept your trade in vehicle, providing you significant tax savings versus selling your vehicle privately. Where else can you source a car from anywhere in North America and have access to financing, leasing and the ability to trade in your car?
Do I have to pay up front for the car?
Generally, you do not have to pay up front for the car. Should you cancel, the only fees payable will be a non-refundable security deposit. When you accept the vehicle, payment in full will be required. All of these matters are discussed PRIOR to ordering so expectations are clear.
Can I change my mind once the vehicle arrives?
Yes, you can. There will, however, be some fees associated with cancellation. Custom ordering and bringing in a vehicle takes a lot of time and associated resources. Exceptions to this policy may apply if you are ordering a very "unique" vehicle (for example a pink Porsche 911 with an automatic transmission) that would be difficult for us to sell should you not complete the purchase. Cancellation policies applicable to each order are discussed upfront to avoid surprises.
Do warranties apply for vehicles imported from the U.S.A.?
The majority of manufacturers honour warranties on properly imported U.S vehicles. At the ordering stage, we discuss warranties and whether or not they apply. ADDITIONALLY, we can offer comprehensive extended warranties on most imported vehicles if we import, inspect and register them.
How does your fee structure work?
Whenever Griffin Motors quotes a price on a vehicle you will pay the landed price in Canadian dollars before tax. Any fees and expenses that come along with the import process will be included in this price. This makes it very easy to quote and gives the customer an accurate idea to how much they saved versus buying a Canadian vehicle. Each and every case in unique so we encourage you to come in and chat with us.
What happens when the car arrives?
Before delivering the car to you, we ensure that all of the required inspections are completed and the import process is FULLY completed (for US cars). We also do a comprehensive 140 point inspection on the vehicle as well as a Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Inspection. Any issues required to address the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle inspection will have to be completed prior to delivery and other items, not safety related, will be discussed with you prior to being dealt with. Costs related to these inspections are discussed in the ordering stage of our process.
